23 days...10 pounds

Hello! It has been several days since I have gotten to post because somehow I contracted a virus, well not me...my poor computer. I turned it on last Thursday and there were computer animated bugs eating my screen. I am not sure what that is, but I assume it can't be good. It was a little freaky. Hopefully the computer Dr. will fix it soon. I am on the computer at our local library.

My diet is going great as you can see in the title. I can't believe so much weight has come off. I hope I can keep it up.

I attended a card club and can't wait to share the cute cards we made. Hopefully I will be back regularly soon. I miss blogging.

As for this weeks American Idol.....David Cook is in a whole other league when compared to the others. He is awesome no matter what he sings. Watching Brooke fall apart is very hard. I like her alot, but it seems she is not going to be able to pick herself up. I was hoping she would. Syesha seems to be fighting to stay in the competition. I still can't stand Jason Castro. My bottom two for this week is Jason Castro and Brooke White. I look forward to what happens.

Happy Wednesday! Hope to blog more soon....

29 days....12.5 pounds

Maybe if I had weighed in this direction when my weight was stuck a few weeks ago it would have went down faster!LOL!

Well, as you can see in the title of this post I behaved myself in Amish Country. Talk about a hard place to stick to your diet! Mashed potatoes, broasted chicken, ham, steak, turkey, gravy, dressing, noodles, desserts...AHHHHHH! I was down 1/2 a pound. YAY!

When I got home our foster son decided to pretend he was glad I was home until he found out I did not bring him home anything. When our 12 year old hugged me, he asked her "Why are you hugging her? She didn't bring us anything." That breaks my heart. I know he has issues, but it still hurts. The next Saturday that has nice weather we are taking them to the zoo. I was going to let them pick something out there.

While we were at the B&B we watched American idol, and I was home in time to watch the results show last night. I felt things were way off and that Brooke and Jason should have been the bottom two. This season seems to be unpredictable. Carly's song choice made me a little uncomfortable. I didn't really like it. Based on performance my top two were Syesha and David Cook.

Happy Thursday!

32 days.....13 pounds

I am so excited! AGAIN! Whichever of you bloggy friends made the comment that when the pounds start moving again that they will come off quickly was right! I lost another one! 13 more pounds to go. BTW, I don't know if I mentioned it, but 50 pounds is just my first goal. I want to lose another 50 by November 22nd! I get to collect the $1,000 from my grandfather at the first 50. Hey! Maybe he will offer $1,000 for another 50. LOL! In the end I will go from 225 to 125. Very reasonable for my 5'1" height.
I won't be posting Tuesday or Wednesday. I am going to travel to Amish Country with my Mom. We are going to be staying in a gorgeous Victorian B&B.
I used to be fascinated by the little things you can see in Amish Country like this sign. I now live where there is one within view from my front porch.
Also, the buggy rides have lost their appeal. Hubby gave me a Belgian horse and Amish buggy for Mother's Day 2 years ago. Funny note: Our neighbors thought we were Amish for awhile. LOL!

Have a great Monday - Wednesday and I will see you again on Thursday.

33 days.....14 pounds

We celebrated our 3 year old's birthday today with a SpongeBob themed party. She loved it. We had SB fun foam make your own frame craft, Pin the Jellyfish in SB's net, and a SB pinata. The kids all had a blast. I am VERY tired.

Happy Sunday!

34 days....14 pounds

Today my SIL and I did our weekly weigh in. I am so glad these numbers keep going down! I have 4 weeks and 6 days left so I still think 14 pounds is doable. A little challenging, but not impossible. Just as long as I don't get stuck again.

I think I have mentioned that our 3 year old is a mustard fanatic. Well, she has eaten it on chips, lunchmeat, sandwiches, pickles, pizza, hotdogs, cheese sticks, french fries, bread, and now.............STRAWBERRIES! I know....gross!!!

35 days....14.5 pounds

I just about fell off the scale this morning! I have actually lost 35.5 pounds! Only 14.5 left to go. This loss also put me at 189.5. Goodbye 190s! Talk about a great way to start your morning. I have just really tried to behave myself. I have stopped "grazing", added more water, and got active. Looks like it is working. It has given me hope that I can reach my goal.

I wanted to share this sunset photo I took from my front porch. I shot it with my plain old digital camera. It makes me glad that I live on the farm. Country life is definitely the life for me.

Yesterday when we went to the park I thought I would be funny and go down one of the slides headfirst on my stomach. (BTW, we were the only ones there.) My foster son took pics, and then he gets behind me and pushes me on down the slide. I pulled back and pulled the muscles in my neck. Ouch! The kids thought it was hilarious!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. We are going to have our 3 year old's 3rd birthday party. She was sick on her birthday and her party had to be canceled. Now almost 6 weeks later we are finally getting the time to celebrate. At her age you can do that kind of thing.

Happy Friday!

36 days......16 pounds

YAY! This is a link from the paper chain I made to count down my weight loss. The paper is Creative Memories and I used my scallop punch from Stampin' Up. I was so glad to reach this point! I have lost 15% of my body weight. It sure seems the days are going down alot faster than the pounds! LOL!

As for American Idol last night I think it was past time for Kristy to go, but she is such a cute girl. She was a little "cheeky" when she called Simon a "butt." I wish her lots of success and I do hope she can get her horse back.

We are supposed to be getting at least 2 gorgeous spring days. My mood has been heavy lately so I plan to get out in the fresh air. I took a walk last night and it seemed to help. I think we will escape this evening for another evening of ice cream, library, and playground fun!

Hope your Thursday is sunny and warm!

37 days.....16.5 pounds

Ok I am officially taking sides! I want David Cook to win! He is my #1. Also for the first time in all the seasons our whole house is in agreement! We love David Cook!

My bottom three: Kristy Lee Cook, Brooke White, and Jason Castro I really think that tonight Kristy will be leaving. I was really surprised that the contestants were able to do the Mariah songs so well. Simon was right, the boys did outsing the girls. I do think that the girls were easier to compare to Mariah and that put them at a disadvantage.

My weight went down half a pound! I was so glad! Hopefully this is the start of getting away from 192.5! YAY!

Happy Wednesday! Enjoy the results show.

38 days....17 pounds

Looking back over the years I have found that I find certain things that appeal to me and then proceed to become obsessed with them. LOL! For example: Yorkshire Terriers, Holstein cows, Schnauzers, Snowmen, Cherries, and now it is slowly turning into bees. I wondered where it had begun. I found some photos from Halloween 2007 that gave me a BIG HINT. Not to mention we went to see the "Bee Movie" the following weekend. From there I have slowly found myself thinking bees are the new cherries. LOL! When I do this, my family and friends tend to go with it for any gifts I receive and I end up with lots of little doodads based on my new obsession.

Do you have something that you love and end up collecting?

BTW.....I am so sick of putting 17 pounds in the titles but the pounds just won't move. Maybe tomorrow...

PS: Hi Kay-Kay! Thanks for checking out my blog. I look forward to your visit this summer.

39 days.....17 pounds

I LOVE MY 12 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER! SHE IS SO SPECIAL! SHE IS MY BEST FRIEND! LOL! There sweetheart you are on my blog. I love you. Love, Mom

As you could probably guess our 12 year old has complained she is not on my blog. So I wanted to dedicate this entry to her. She is my blessing. I got pregnant with her 6 months into our marriageat 20 years old. She has been with us through hubby's adventures in schooling. She has lived in 8 different homes and towns. She has went to 4 different schools and been homeschooled for 3 years. She is a trooper. For 9 1/2 years she was an only child and then became 1 of 4 in less than 2 years. She gave up her room to make room for our foster son(Her own idea). This put her in a room with 2 cribs! I personally think she is fabulous. I love the time we spend scrapping together. She is my crop and getaway partner in crime. It is a blessing to be able to call her my daughter and best friend.

42 Days.....17 pounds

WWWWWAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! I can't believe this! AI should have taken the chance to not vote off anyone during Give Back week. Ryan was cruel for suggesting that is what they did last year and then saying...."but not this year." Argh. Micheal, I look forward to seeing where your career takes you.

Yesterday the kids and I had the best evening! We drove to town after school. First stop...McDonalds for vanilla cones! Bet you didn't know they are only 150 calories and 3 grams of fat! We even took one to Hubby and he ate with us in the car. LOL! Paperwork was calling his name so we had to settle for what time he could give us. Second stop...The library to pick up the new Sophie Kinsella! I also got "A New Earth", but I am a little cautious after hearing what others are saying about it. Third stop...a park that we have never visited. Our three year old is Evil Knievel reincarnated. LOL! I believe I got 3 more gray hairs just while watching her climb on the equipment. AH!
Happy Friday!

43 Days....17 pounds

I feel blessed. I came upon this picture and several of the kids from April 2007. This was a weeklong event we refer to as Barf-o-rama 2007. Yes, I felt just like I looked. 3 out of 4 kids, 2 extra kid cousins that were visiting for Spring Break , and myself were puking and other things I won't share. It was awful. I feel so blessed for us all to be in good health this year. Of course, I took pics of each person so I could scrapbook our experience. LOL!

I was down a pound this morning so only 17 more to go! Yea! The babies went to cheernastics. They were so rotten I couldn't get them to participate with the other kids. Must be the 72 degree gorgeous weather. I was exhausted. I just kept telling myself that I was burning calories. The snowflakes have now disappeared from our 7-day forecast. YAY!

Happy Thursday!

44 Days ....18 pounds

I love this card and I know it is no where near Christmas....I just couldn't resist. The stamp was done with embossing powder. So pretty and shiny. My apologies to those trying to forget winter.

American Idol......I was a little bored last night. My top 3: Micheal Johns, Syesha, and David Cook My bottom 3: Jason Castro (and his little guitar-like instrument too), Brooke White, and Carly Smithson. I think Carly didn't get the memo on what type of song to sing. She looked a little angry. As for who I think will go......I don't know. My guess....Jason Castro.

I have 44 days til I go to my sister's house and 18 pounds left to go. I will be pushing it to lose 18 pounds by then, but I am going to go for it! I think I will use the titles of my entries to keep track of days and pounds. I welcome any cheering or motivational comments from my friends in blog world. I'm gonna need it. LOL!

Happy Wednesday!

PS: Happy Belated Anniversary to my Mom and Dad! 45 years together (4-8-08)

Tuesday, April 8, 2008

I got this idea from splitcoaststampers.com. I love the yellow and red together. Today is such a beautiful day here. Last check the temperature was 75! Unfortunately I just had to look and this weekend has snowflakes in the forecast. I love the pretty days this time of year, but they tease you in between snowflakes.

My hubby has complained about my choice of TV shows in the past. I watch mindless shows that most would find "mind numbing." These are my "guilty pleasures." I don't even like to admit I watch them. I am kinda star struck so I enjoy celeb stuff. I think the Soup on E! is hilarious (when it is not dirty). I have to change the channel on it sometimes. I also LOVE the Real Housewives of Orange County on Bravo. I still have not warmed up to the NYC girls, but I watch from time to time. I also caught a few episodes of "I Love New York." YIKES....don't tell anyone. LOL! Do you have any TV shows that are "guilty pleasures"? Come on....admit it.....I won't tell!

My favorite children's store

I love this print on a tshirt I bought at Children's Place. The litle birdie is too cute. Just thought I would share. It was part of my retail relaxation therapy this weekend!

Back from our trip

We are back from our trip. What a nice 4 days! It felt so good to be able to hold a full conversation with hubby. On the first day we arrived I dropped him at the conference and went to see "Meet the Browns." It was so nice to be all alone with only my thoughts for a little while. The movie was ok. I was impressed that when I washed my hands in the bathroom I was able to take the time to blow dry them. LOL! I spent day #2 with Mom and day #3 with my hubby's Aunt. All the evenings belonged to just me and hubby. I relaxed! Hubby and I reconnected.

Keym had asked about my 50 lbs gone by May 23rd goal. I had read that 8 - 10 pounds per month is a healthy ok amount to go for. I started January 1. I have lost 32 pounds so far. I strive to eat 1200 calories, 25 grams of fat, 64 ounces of water, and exercise 30 minutes daily. I by no means have done all that in any one day, but I have hit a plateau and I am going to have to get my butt in gear. I take a vitamin daily, but ABSOLUTELY no diet pills. I have done this the old fashioned way. I also have a "naughty" meal about every 2 weeks.

I have REALLY missed reading everyone's blogs and keeping up with mine. Feels good to be home.

I loved American Idol!

Wow! I love Dolly Parton so I was looking forward to tonight's show. Who am I kidding! I always look forward to AI. My top 3 performances for tonight were Micheal Johns, David Cook, and Syesha. My bottom 3 were Jason Castro, Ramiele Malubay, and Kristy Lee Cook. I just really enjoyed them all.

Hubby and I are getting ready to go on a trip. Just him and me, 3 nights, 4 days....Ahhhhhh! I may actually get the muscles in my back to relax. LOL!

Hope everyone has been having a great week so far. I am back on track with my diet. I had started "grazing." I am doing good now though and I am still on track to lose 50 pounds by the time I go visit my sis in May.

Happy Tuesday!
